The New York Blood Center is asking for help in replenishing the blood supply. Volunteer donors are critically needed. You never know when you or a loved one might need blood, and one donation can help save up to three lives.

Minimum weight is 110 pounds, you must not have had a tattoo within the past 12 months, and those under 16 requires parental permission. For complete information concerning medical eligibility, please call 1-800-933-2566.

eBook Summer Fest!

We will again be hosting the 42-foot long Digital Bookmobile from our ebook provider, Overdrive, at the Bethpage Public Library. It is equipped with broadband Internet-connected PCs, free Wi-Fi connection, touchscreen monitors, premium sound systems, and a variety of portable media players, all of which help visitors explore the library’s ebook/audiobook service. In the Gadget Gallery, readers can explore all popular devices including iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Chromebook and Kindle.

The library will be hosting events from 2–8 P.M. including one-on one sessions with staff, reading recommendations, a book sale, library card sign-up, baking demonstration, a bounce house, cotton candy, live music, magic show, raffles and more.

We have 3D Printing classes here at the library this summer! This is a series of classes that will teach adults the very basics of 3D printing. Participants will not only learn what 3D printing is, but how to design and build objects using our 3D printer! We will be making projects from scratch using Autodesk Fusion 360, an innovative, industry professional software.

Space is extremely limited. Patrons who sign up must have a valid e-mail address and have basic computer knowledge.
