Tweens 'n' Teens: Rocks, Gems, Fossils, Oh My!
With Ranger Eric from Your Connection to Nature!

Dig into geology! Learn about the impressiveness of the geologic cycle, and how it affects the earth through shifting land masses, earthquakes, and volcanoes. Learn about the fossils of ancient-living things and how various types of rocks such as crystals and stalagmites are formed. Ranger Eric, a certified biologist, will have his personal rock collection on display for you to look, touch, and maybe even hold! He’ll give you some tips if you’d like to start your own. Don’t miss out on the volcanic eruption finale!

This program is eligible for 21st Century credit. Please DO NOT ask for approval through the 21st Century program prior to attending the program. Students must only register at the Bethpage Library Adult Reference Desk. Students who do not register at the library will not be guaranteed a spot. Students attending the program will only be able to register for 21st Century credit after attending the program. S.D. #21 only. Grades 6-12.

Tweens 'n' Teens: Make Your Own Bubblegum
With Jr. Crime Scene Investigators, Inc.!

Using simple chemistry and cooking techniques, Larissa from Jr. Crime Scene Investigators, Inc. will teach you how to create your own flavored bubblegum! There will be a wide range of flavors to pick and choose for your creation, including Tropical Punch, Cherry Limeade, and Grape. You’ll finish it off with a candy wrapper for a vintage candy look. It’s all up to you! Learn some basic chemistry and enjoy the afternoon with a perfect treat! There is limited space, so sign up starting May 1st!
