The steel pan (made from a steel oil drum) is a unique musical percussion instrument which was invented in Trinidad and Tobago. Then you will learn how to play some simple scales and a simple song using some of the 38 individual notes, including different techniques such as a strike and a roll! A handout will be provided for you to take home and to continue your instruction.

The steel pan is quickly gaining popularity in the United States and all countries around the world as a band and solo instrument. Its distinct, vibrant sound creates a "tropical" vibe which is now used in many genres of music!
