This excellent Tax Assistance Program is sponsored by AARP and the IRS. Expertly trained volunteers will be at the library to help answer your questions and assist in filling out tax forms. Please bring last year's return; W-2 forms from each employer; unemployment compensation statements; SSA-1099 forms if you were paid Social Security Benefits; all 1099 forms (1099 INT; 1099 DIV; 1099-B, etc.) showing interest and/or dividends and documentation showing original purchase price of sold assets; Social Security cards or other official documentation for yourself and all dependents; dependent care provider information; forms indicating federal income tax paid.

Due to the increasing frequency of identity theft, the IRS now requires that tax preparers make positive identification of taxpayers by photo ID and Social Security cards. In addition the IRS mandates that for a joint tax return, both parties need to be present.

Please note: In lieu of a social security card, taxpayers may present their SSA Statement.

Please be prepared to furnish both forms of identification when you arrive to have your return prepared.

Lauren Bacall Movie Matinee: To Have and Have Not 3/4/2015 2:00:00 PM
Lauren Bacall Movie Matinee: To Have and Have Not
To Have and Have Not
Not rated, 100 minutes (Lauren Bacall, Humphrey Bogart)
Lauren Bacall’s film debut and first of many films with Humphrey Bogart was loosely based upon Ernest Hemingway’s 1937 novel of the same name. Harry Morgan (Bogart) is the owner of a cabin boat in Martinique during World War II with France under Nazi occupation. He is approached by a member of the French Resistance who would like to pay Harry to smuggle an important free French leader and his wife into Martinique, but Harry initially declines the job. That is, until Marie (Bacall), an evocative, restless woman arrives on the Island and takes residence in the room across from Harry’s. She soon finds herself in a jam with no money and asks Harry for assistance. Harry agrees to help her leave the island, but in order to aid her, he must agree to do the job he is against and has been avoiding and provide the boat to pick up the resistance fighter, a situation that puts him in extreme danger.
